Make your own tincture remedy using herbal medicine to prevent and treat allergy symptoms.
Most of us look forward to the coming of spring after a long New England winter. We cherish the time to be outside with the budding of trees and the plants sprouting from the earth. Some of us, however, dread this time because of the seasonal allergies! If you are tired of using medicines like Claritin and inhalers to treat your symptoms and are looking for a holistic solution this workshop is for you!
We will discuss how allergies are viewed according to Chinese medicine. We will briefly touch upon the 5 elements, the definition of Wei Qi, and the Wind gate. The root of cause of allergies is a deficiency of the immune system. We will talk about specific herbs that are good for boosting the immune system and herbs that alleviate allergy symptoms. Astragalus root, Reishi mushrooms, Stinging Nettles, Peppermint, and Honeysuckle flowers are some herbs we willtouch upon. We will also talk about specific Chinese herbal formulas that are used to treat allergy symptoms. Then we will make our own tincture for spring and summer wellness. I will provide the herbs and mushrooms, non-gmo glycerin, and gluten free alcohol. We will start the process together and instructions will be given on making, care, and storage.
IMPORTANT! Please bring your own quart size Ball jars to class. They can be purchased online and at most department, health food and hardware stores.
