Dr. Brad Brooks
Dr. Brad Brooks is a native of New England. He was born on the north shore of Massachusetts and remained local to complete a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Gordon College. During his premedical career, he conducted clinical research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and contributed to the development of novel cellular therapies for cancer patients. He then joined the Boston Medical Center Division of Endocrinology and published clinical research in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and Journals of Gerontology Biological Studies and Medical Studies. Inspired by his experience translating basic sciences into patient care, Dr. Brooks attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) in southern Maine. While in medical school, he continued laboratory work at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory studying regenerative biology. With a deeper knowledge of the body’s ability to regulate and regenerate, Dr. Brooks served as president of the Integrative Medicine Club and completed clerkships in complementary and alternative medicine. After graduation, Dr. Brooks completed a residency in family medicine at the Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program at Manchester Memorial Hospital where he trained in adult and pediatric primary care with distinction in osteopathic manual medicine (OMM).
Dr. Brooks practices medicine with the understanding that health and disease have inertia, therefore he uses conventional and integrative practices to promote and maintain his patient’s inner source of wellness. He has a passion to know his patients and develop shared health goals that advance physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
When out of the office, Dr. Brooks and his fiancé spend their time socializing with family and friends, as well as their two cats. He finds fulfillment in cooking, exercising, crafting, flow arts, live music, and consciousness festivals.
Dr. Brooks will become board certified in family medicine and join the Collaborative Natural Health Partners in 2019.
