Amy started her career in 1996 after graduating with her master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University, and began working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at a community health center in the inner city of Chicago. She returned to graduate school for a degree in midwifery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and practiced as a full-scope Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), attending nearly 300 births since 2003. Amy and her husband moved from Chicago to Connecticut in 2008.
Over the past several years, Amy has experienced some health challenges including autoimmune issues and Lyme disease. Through her own experience of healing with functional medicine and looking to the root cause of disease, Amy is excited to shift from practicing midwifery back to primary care, and now with a functional medicine focus.
Amy and her husband live on a hobby farm with their four children, alpacas, chickens, cats, and a dog. Amy enjoys being in the kitchen learning about fermentation, sourdough, and canning, and also enjoys knitting, being outdoors, staying active with cross-training, and all things creative.
Amy is thrilled to join Collaborative Health Partners and is passionate about making a tangible difference by partnering with her patients in their healing.
